Depending on what you are looking for, if you want something as a decoration and to use it now and then to show your guests, probably that price with Ford Mustang logo/inspired design might alright for the price. If you are looking for something that can play vinyl and shellac record with a headphone jack, and don''t care about those techy thingy like pitch, quality of sound, probably there might be something more cheaper, unless of course you''re choosing between retro turntable design, or a car design. If you are the CD or Digital format generation like me, and this is the first time ever touching a vinyl, shellac records, and want to start cheap and gradually upgrade to a better brand, don''t buy this, spend that extra bit of money and get a good one that last you for a long time before you start investing to more expensive brand. The photos above are obviously professionally take, so they look fabulous. The outer chrome shiny plastic looks good, but inside the finishing is rubbish. The plastic is very filmsy and fragile, hence the whole turntable is very light weighted. The platter, stylus , everything is plastic, and it is not stable, you can break any part in no time, they are super fragile. The tonearm has no weight adjustment. The plastic platter probably is 7",so if you are playing 12" or 10", it''s not going to be as good as those with 12" platter, and it is wobbly as it turns. No idea why the Technical Details above stated "Batteries: 1 AAA batteries required.", can''t seem to find anything that requires or can insert battery. It stated stylus for playing 78rpm sold separately, and when you go to the official ION website, no information about it, not a link for you to buy. Spoken to customer service a few times, each time suggested a few brand but i can''t seem to pin down any brand that stated suitable for this model. Manual did not explain how to change/replace stylus. Please note that not all 78rpm shellac records is 78rpm, some are 80rpm etc, and there''s no option for you to choose/adjust the speed, all you get is 33/45/78. Even when you plug in your headphone, you can still hear it directly from the turntable itself, not loud, just at a low level sound. Currently i''m using it as a ''cleaner'' to remove the dirt and gunge on the shellac records. Prior to this i have tried 1ByOne but had returned it, it doesn''t have 78rpm option. I''m going to get myself Audio-Technica AT-LP120. This is personal choice, after watching reviews on youtube, and so called ''10 best turntable'' or something like that. Do a bit of searching and make decision on how much you want to spend, you get what you pay for.
